This birch hardwood steaming stool is approximately 13"H with a 15" x 18" seat. This stool is ideal for vaginal steaming because of the wide opening, allowing the steam to penetrate all of the skin and tissue of the thighs and buttocks area as well. It also allows one the opportunity to shift positioning allowing more opening and steam penetration. No returns or refunds are available for this product.
When you purchase your stool it includes a 30 minute video or phone consultation. A consultation will give you guidance on how to use the stool, how to prepare a custom herbal blend for your needs, and additional tips and things to watch for as you incorporate steaming into your lifestyle.
With your stool purchase and consult, you can add a 45 minute online kundalini yoga session as a guided spiritual self healing treatment for $30, which is an excellent practice to do before your steam.
Vaginal steams are an ancient tool and are an effective treatment used for many conditions related to the female digestive and reproductive health. Vaginal Steam baths bring heat to the womb and to the pelvic floor, thus increasing circulation and energy flow throughout the pelvis. The use of specific herbs increases the healing benefits, depending on the health condition being treated or the outcome desired. The herbal formulas typically work to stimulate circulation to the pelvis and to cleanse, tone, nourish and heal the tissues. The moist heat opens the pores of the tissues and the botanical infused water vapor carries the medicinal benefits of the plants, including volatile oils. Men can also use steaming hydrotherapy for toning and cleansing.
For women, general preventative health it is recommended to steam monthly, 3-5 days before your cycle and/or the day after your cycle ends. Young women can begin a steaming practice after the onset of their cycle. For perimenopausal/menopausal women steaming is still an excellent tool for toning, tightening, balancing hormones, moisturizing, and spiritual cleansing etc.
But in many cases where chronic conditions exist (like fertility challenges, fibroids, irregular menses, infections etc.) intensive steam therapy is needed and can be done on a daily basis in many cases for a time period determined by your hydrotherapist (me).
For postpartum, I recommend waiting a week, to make sure there are no infections present and you are done bleeding, then steam 3x a week for 4 weeks to make sure all waste is eliminated and uterus gets a good toning.
The steams are about 20-30 minutes long, depending on the focus of the steam.
